I almost missed the show, because i just escaped being arrested in Portugal the day before. I would have never forgiven myself for planning so badly if i did.
What an amazing show it was! Goosebumps all over! For his very last show (such an honor), the amazing fashion designer Ronald Kolk used my photos on a massive screen behind the catwalk! The beautiful clothing designed by Ronald were in a huge contrast with the beauty of decay on the screen. It looked as if the ladies were walking in the abandoned buildings. Antonio Lysy is a cellist who was performing the 5th solo Suite by Bach in a theatre in Los Angeles USA. He asked me if he could project my work on a big screen behind him and his cello. Isn’t this amazing?
For this customized project we needed to go really big! Frank and Ananda own an architectural consultancy company and they wanted something special. My photo ‘Grey Matter’ on the entire wall. 772 x 280 cm! They have even matched the color of the floor with my photo. It looked amazing!

Daan has always been drawn to adventure and even as a child you could find him often secretly playing in an abandoned factory, not knowing that years later he would be taking pictures of them.
How did these people live? Why is the place abandoned? What happened?
With time, nature starts to take over. As the years pass, buildings and the secrets they keep crumble and decay. On first glance you may see a pile of moldy debris, but look at it with different eyes and you’ll find a breathtaking beauty.
